有人常問：「在你生命的最後一刻，最想做什麼？」
或另一種問法：「如果明天就是世界末日，你最想和誰在一起(面對)？」

這首歌曲是敘述一名死囚，但流傳的版本卻有兩種。
一是在黎明槍決前一晚，他夢見自己綠草如茵的家鄉，一切都如此的美好；夢醒時，卻發現原來自己還是在灰暗的囚室中，等待槍決的來臨。

一是他已被槍決，而他的魂魄回返家園，重溫舊時美麗時光.....

無論真實如何，結束生命的現實，或夢醒的那一刻，已置他於死。
