美好時光哪兒去了？

60'年代初期，還是個高中學生的 Dennis Yost 便與同學組成「The Echoes」(迴聲)樂團。1965年，他認識了 James Cobb, Wally Eaton, and Dean Daughtry 三個音樂同好，並於隔年由 Joe Wilson 取代了 Dean Daughtry，四人在佛羅里達州 Jacksonville 成立了「The Classics」樂隊。

「The Classics」初試啼音而引起注意的關鍵，不僅是因演唱由當時極有名的 Joe South 所寫的「Pollyanna」，更因 Dennis Yost 是一般樂團中，少見的總是會在演唱時站起來打鼓並帶頭領唱的鼓手。

而在小有名氣之後，他們決定將團名改為「The Classics IV」，開始在排行榜上浮浮沉沉，雖不是榜首，但也總能在年度百大中佔有一席之地。
