Wendy Matthews - Lily (1992)

出生於加拿大、揚名於澳洲的 Wendy Matthews，在音色上與福音流行歌手的「Amy Grant」頗神似，而兩人恰巧都出生於1960年。

Wendy Matthews 在15歲還在學校期間時便加入了朋友組的「Little Benny Blues Band」樂團(後來改名為「Little Benny Park」)，16歲離開學校後和幾位好友前往北美，她為自己找到一個跟音樂相關的工作；直到1983年，澳洲樂團「Little River Band」當時的主唱 Glenn Shorrock 請她以幕後主合聲的身分一起到澳洲巡迴演唱，Wendy Matthews 就此長留在澳洲發展演唱事業，擔任合聲與配唱、演唱電影歌曲的音樂工作，直到1990年才發行個人首張專輯「Émigré」，而從此開始直到2001年之間，幾乎每隔一、兩年，她總共有七次獲得澳洲唱片工業協會(ARIA, Australian Recording Industry Association)提名，六次得獎的紀錄。

這一首「The Day You Went Away」於1992年發行，1993年獲得年度最佳單曲、最佳銷售單曲，(專輯「Lily」獲得最佳專輯)：
